Product Description

Palton PCD Flat Router Bits Straight Diamond End Milling Cutters Suitable for Stone Aluminum Silicon Plastic Wood Glass

  • The Workhorse in Your CNC Tool Changer

Ask any production manager running a nesting line what kills throughput, and the answer comes quickly: tool changes. Not the machine. Not the program. Not the operator. A dull router bit that needs to come out of the spindle and be replaced, over and over, while finished panels pile up in the queue.

This flat-straight PCD bit is engineered to remove that bottleneck from your workflow. One tool. One setup. Material after material, sheet after sheet, shift after shift.

    How It's Constructed

At the core: a solid tungsten carbide shank ground to precise concentricity — the vibration-dampening backbone. At the business end: a polycrystalline diamond cutting blank, formed under

HPHT (high-pressure, high-temperature) conditions that replicate the diamond creation process deep in the earth's mantle.

The two are joined through vacuum brazing — a furnace process that evacuates all atmosphere from the bonding zone before the filler metal flows. No trapped gas bubbles. No oxidation at the joint interface. No weak points that become failure sites at 20,000 RPM. The diamond tip and carbide body become a single continuous structure.

A final laser-edge grinding pass brings the cutting edge to its finished geometry. No micro-chipping. No edge irregularities. A cutting surface that engages the workpiece cleanly on every revolution.

One Flute or Two — Choose the Application

Single Flute — The Finishing Specialist

When the job calls for a smooth groove bottom,

a clean slot wall, and a surface that doesn't need secondary sanding — single flute. The large chip gullet clears waste effortlessly, keeping the cut zone clean. Ideal for shallow precision grooves in melamine-faced board, thin material slitting, and detail work where surface quality is the priority.

Dual Flute — The Volume Worker

For deep slotting, heavy material removal, and aggressive feed rates on thick panels. Two cutting edges share the load. Chip volume is high, and the dual-flute geometry is designed to evacuate it without packing. Use this configuration when throughput — not just finish — is the metric that matters.

Material Map — What This Bit Handles

    Category Specific Materials Notes
Wood-based panels MDF, HDF, melamine chipboard, plywood,
laminate flooring Clean edge, no chipping on decorative surface layers
Non-ferrous metals Aluminum alloy, copper, magnesium, aluminum-plastic composite No built-up edge, no material transfer to tool
Composites CFRP, GFRP, carbon panels, fiberglass board Fiber severance without delamination
Plastics & acrylics Epoxy resin board, acrylic sheet, engineering plastics No melting, no resin loading on cutting edge

Where This Bit Earns Its Keep

A CNC nesting machine running cabinet parts spends most of its productive time doing variations of the same operation: cut a straight groove. Whether it's a dado for a shelf, a through-slot for a back panel, or a trim cut to final dimension — the motion is linear and the requirement is the same. Clean edges. Accurate width.

    No secondary cleanup.

This PCD straight bit moves between those operations without changing tools. Aluminum housing milling in the morning, melamine cabinet parts after lunch, composite prototype work before end of shift — same tool, same holder, same reliability.

The Heat Advantage in Continuous Cutting

MDF resin. Melamine coating. Aluminum friction. Each generates heat at the tool-workpiece contact zone. Carbide absorbs that heat. Thermal expansion pushes the bit out of tolerance. The edge softens. The resin — if it's wood-based — begins to burn.

PCD's thermal path flows in the opposite direction. Heat moves through the diamond and into the chip body, not the tool substrate. The edge remains at a stable temperature through the full cutting cycle. No thermal expansion drift.

No resin scorching on the workpiece surface. No parameter throttling to "let the tool cool down."

    What the Operator Sees

    • Laser-ground edge produces finished-quality groove on first pass — sanding station workload drops
    • Tool diameter holds tolerance across hundreds of linear meters of

    cutting

    • Flute geometry clears chips without re-cutting, even in deep slots

    • Spindle load remains stable over long runs — no gradual climb from dulling edge

    • Tool swaps become scheduled events rather than reactive interruptions

    Customization & Support

    • Stocked sizes ship in working days; custom geometries in 10–18 days

    • Application engineers provide parameter starting points for your specific material and machine

    • Regrinding service available for worn PCD cutters — extending tool life further

    • OEM / ODM / OBM: custom dimensions, flute counts, shank sizes, laser marking, and packaging

    • Technical support accessible 7 days a week
